RESERVATIONS

After hundreds of yrs of oppression finally "they" got an opportunity to enhance themselves. Dr.B.R.Ambedkar  who himself faced the discrimination came with the idea of "RESERVATIONS".Actually they r meant to improve the living standards of the backward classes.Initially it was decided to keep the reservation system for a period of 10 yrs after the enforcement of constitution.But due to political factors, it was prolonged till now. But the irony is even in those castes major part of the reservation is used by the developed class.

                   Many people argue that they should be removed at least in the field of education.But education teaches man how to live in the society.So , there's no point in providing reservation in other streams like employment. Some argue that they are ought to be removed after 10 years but even after 60 years of such a system we are unable to achieve social equality.They should be continued but on a strict income basis. Otherwise the upper strata of the castes is becoming rich leaving the lower strata there itself which again forms a economic barrier in the caste and causes harm to the major intention behind reservation. It's already being implemented in one section of reservation but still the intelligentsia manage to get through using the loop holes of the law.So, the government should be very cautious about those loop holes and maintain a perfect economic record to qualify them for reservation.
                    Coming to the employment system, reservations can be provided during placement but should be removed once after joining such as in promotions etc. Because this reduces the professional efficiency of the system.But basically it should be provided in placements because there is no point in giving it in education without giving employment.
                    But coming to the other side of the coin, reservations reduce the average intelligence of the nation and as mentioned above also the professional efficiency.Even in the nations' greatest positions like IAS & IPS reservation is being considered as a criteria.It is a threat for society because intelligentsia are ignoring and giving priority for reservation which inturn is having effect on the total national development.So, regarding such important things reservations should not be considered.
